Partial American Captains uniform (Union Army), belongingto Frederic-Sears I Grand dHauteville (1838-1918), American Civil War period,circa 1860, comprising:

1 short single breasted coat, 1 long single breasted coat,1 single breasted over coat, Cream trouser with gold piping, 3 violet waist ties,2 pairs of long white leather gloves, 3 white cotton waistcoats with gilt buttonsbearing the patriotic eagle and 3 leather belts with square brass buckles.

These uniforms were found in the loft of the Castle,wrapped up in newspaper dated 1945 and had not been touched since.
