Rare ROLEX Deep Sea Special DSS Watch
Commemorative model produced in very limited numbers to celebrate the 1960 expedition led by Jacques Piccard & Don Walsh.
The achievement involved descending in a bathyscaphe to the Mariana Trench at 10,916 metres below sea level. The original Rolex was attached outside the bathyscaphe and still functioned after resurfacing.
This watch remained in the same family until the private sale transaction.
