The Work of Our Specialists

A fine object achieves the success it deserves at auction when it has been properly identified and presented with a complete and professionally prepared catalogue entry. This meticulous work is undertaken by our specialists, each within their own field of expertise.

To ensure the success of your sale, we :

  • Carefully examine each item.

  • Compare it against our databases.

  • Carry out authentication procedures with reference experts for paintings and sculptures.

  • Collaborate with leading laboratories (SSEF, Gübelin, GIA…) to certify your gemstones.

  • Consult official archives from museums, libraries, genealogical sites, and family records to trace provenance.

For particularly rare items, we also seek the advice of external consultants and major Swiss or international institutions. This rigorous scientific work provides buyers with the confidence to bid securely and continually expands our network of collectors.

“The continued growth and financial stability of Piguet Auction House reflects the trust our clients have placed in us since 1978…”

Who Are Our Buyers?

Our buyers are international.

Through our reputation, partnerships, and communications team, we attract collectors from beyond Switzerland.

Our loyal Swiss clientele, accustomed to Piguet’s reliability and with considerable purchasing power, competes with collectors worldwide to secure the best results.

Finding the Best Strategy

Every situation is unique, which is why we provide tailor-made selling solutions according to your needs. After an initial meeting, we agree on the best approach and accompany you from A to Z. This may involve selling:

  • The entirety of an estate within a defined timeframe.

  • Selected valuable items for liquidity needs or redecorating purposes.

  • Items simply to create space.

Auctions often offer the best solution, providing maximum visibility and creating competition among buyers to achieve the highest prices. In certain cases, private sales may also be recommended.

Rare ROLEX Deep Sea Special DSS Watch

Commemorative model produced in very limited numbers to celebrate the 1960 expedition led by Jacques Piccard & Don Walsh.

The achievement involved descending in a bathyscaphe to the Mariana Trench at 10,916 metres below sea level. The original Rolex was attached outside the bathyscaphe and still functioned after resurfacing.
