Bronze edition of a gold medal (lot no. 1052) presented by Congress to General Alexander Macomb after the Battle of Plattsburgh and a small booklet entitled "The Battle of Plattsburgh", released for the centenary of the battle with illustrations and plans. The booklet sold here was probably given to Mrs Frederic Grand d'Hauteville who was contacted by the Plattsburgh Centenary Commission in February 1914 in order to provide a photograph of Major General Macomb. The centenary was commemorated by errecting a permanent monument.
