The Buddha was described as such in the Paul Brandt NV sale: "Capital and impressive stone head and neck of Buddha. The expressive face with curved eye-brows, inlaid semi-closed eyes andbroad nose and mouth. Granulated hairdo and long extended earlobes. Remainders of gilding and polychrome. Mouth restored. h. 60 cm. U-thong, 16th century"
