An Imari porcelain shaving dish, Japan, Edo period, 25 cm high (restorations)

Condition report

Restorations around the rim. This has been extremely well executed and masked by repainting and overglazing. Apparent through the tickness of the glaze around the edge of the rim and the variations in colour tones.
2 hairlines visible: one on the front of the gilt chrysanthemum on the left, the othr one is underneath the rust chrysanthemum on the left
Some wear to the enamels and the gilding
Some surface scratches
Some firing imperfections
The bowl has been pierced twice near the rim
