Set of 12 champagne coupes in 18k gold by Tiffany & Co., New York, early 20th Century, 1245g.  Polygonal form on a stepped and tapered stem, the foot engraved EFB and dated June 16, 1921 and December 25, 1921. With fitted case. Provenance: Auction of the Marcel Boussac Collection, Lille Hôtel des Ventes (France), March 1981 In the 1920s, entrepreneur Marcel Boussac (1889-1980) held one if the largest fortunes in France from his involvement in the textile industry and breeding successful race horses. He befriended other well-known personalities of the 20th century such as Georges Clémenceau and Christian Dior. His Belgian wife, Fanny Boussac (1888-1973) was an accomplished singer and saw great fame during the 1920s at the Paris Garnier Opera House, Milan's La Scala and the Nice Opera House amongst others.
