Fossilised fish Turbomesodon sp., Bavaria (Solnhofen), Upper Jurassic (150 million years old), on custom-made base, 18 x 18 cm

Round fish of the Picnodont family. This rare species is one of the most sought after in this mythical site where, among others, Archaeopteryx and the dinosaur bird were found. It is interesting to observe on this specimen the dentition which was used to crush corals.
