1 full-length portrait of Mangal Singh Prabhakar, Maharaja of Alwar (Ulwar), seated in an interior, 26.5x21 cm (print). Certificate of authenticity issued by Art 75 Galerie Yves di Maria, Paris, 13 February 2007, attributing the print to Bourne & Shepherd, dating it 1877 and describing it as "rare épreuve probablement réalisée en 1877, à l'occasion du couronnement de la reine Victoria Impératrice des Indes"
1 full-length portrait of Ranbir Singh, Maharaja of Kashmir, seated in an interior, carrying a sword. This Maharaja was Knight Grand Commander (GCSI) of the Order of the Star of India and wears the medal and collar, 29x23 cm (print) (restorations). A similar print, attributed to Bourne & Shepherd, is in the Royal Collection, inv. no. RCIN 2114153
1 full-length portrait of Maharaja Sir Jung Bahadur Rana, standing in an interior, holding a sword, leaning on a chair, 28.5x22.5 cm. This Maharaja was Knight Grand Cross (GCB) of the Order of the Bath and wears the medal. He was also Knight Grand Commander (GCSI) of the Order of the Star of India and wears the medal, the collar and the coat. There is a card with the Marahaja's name on it, below the print. A similar print, attributed to Bourne & Shepherd, dated 1875-76, is in the Royal Collection, inv. no. RCIN 2114195

Cet ensemble de plus de 90 représentations photographiques ou peintes de l'Inde au temps du Raj britannique est le troisième et dernier volet de cette vaste collection déjà proposée lors des ventes de septembre et décembre 2022. Éclectique, elle nous offre un aperçu des diverses techniques photographiques employées à cette époque. Certaines photographies sont par ailleurs attribuées notamment au studio Bourne & Shepherd ou à Lala Deen Dayal, photographes renommés de l'époque.
