A large famille verte and Imari porcelain charger with the Amsterdam coat of arms, China, early 18th century, the coat of arms surmounted by a crown, accompanied by the inscription AMSTELDAM, surrounded by scrolls of flowers, birds, geometric motifs, fish and shellfish in cartouches on a geometric background, marli decorated with figures, lingzhi, birds and flowers in cartouches on a geometric background, diam. 43 cm (discreet hairline). A series of several porcelains decorated with coats of arms of Dutch provinces and cities was produced in China in the early 18th century. This dish was certainly one of them.

A similar bearded dish, dated ca 1920, was sold at Christie's, Amsterdam, 21 May 2008, lot no. 222. 

A dish with the same coat of arms, but with a different border, is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, inv. no. AK-RBK-15910. A dish of the same type was sold at Sotheby's, New York, 20 January 2005, lot no. 54
