Note: the identification of this chief has been made from a handwritten note on the back of the print 1 silver print showing five men in an interior, some with swords, 28.5x35 cm (print) (lacks) 1 albumen print showing a group portrait with the raja of Bharatpur, his ministers and retinue, seated in an interior, 21.5x27 cm (print). Inscription on the cardboard on which the print is pasted: "Rajah of Bhartpur, his ministers and his retinue".

Cet ensemble de plus de 90 représentations photographiques ou peintes de l'Inde au temps du Raj britannique est le troisième et dernier volet de cette vaste collection déjà proposée lors des ventes de septembre et décembre 2022. Éclectique, elle nous offre un aperçu des diverses techniques photographiques employées à cette époque. Certaines photographies sont par ailleurs attribuées notamment au studio Bourne & Shepherd ou à Lala Deen Dayal, photographes renommés de l'époque.
