Group portraits, a set of 4 prints of which 3 platinum-palladium and 1 silver, India, 20th century, comprising: 
1 silver print showing Sir Nahar Singh, Maharaja of Shahpura, surrounded by two men, in an interior, each holding a sword, 28x23 cm (print). The Maharaja was a Knight Commander (KCIE) of the Order of the Indian Empire and wears its medal and collar. A similar platinum-palladium print, attributed to Bourne & Shepherd and dated 1903, is in the Royal Collection, inv. no. RCIN 2916664

SPLENDEURS DU TEMPS DES MAHARAJAS (1858-1947)

Cet ensemble de plus de 90 représentations photographiques ou peintes de l'Inde au temps du Raj britannique est le troisième et dernier volet de cette vaste collection déjà proposée lors des ventes de septembre et décembre 2022. Éclectique, elle nous offre un aperçu des diverses techniques photographiques employées à cette époque. Certaines photographies sont par ailleurs attribuées notamment au studio Bourne & Shepherd ou à Lala Deen Dayal, photographes renommés de l'époque.
