Various portraits, set of 4 photoglypics, India, 19th century, comprising: 
1 bust portrait of the nawab Munir-Ul-Mulk Bahadur (Saadat Ali Khan of Hyderabad), 24.5x19 cm. Print pasted to a cardboard box identifying the man depicted, decorated with flower scrolls, inscribed "Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, London". A similar portrait, dated 1889, is in the National Portrait Gallery, London, inv. no. NPG Ax28691
1 bust portrait of Sir Salar Jung (Mir Laiq Ali Khan Salar Jung II), 24.5x19.5 cm (print). Print pasted to a cardboard box identifying the man pictured, with flower scroll decoration, inscribed 'Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, London'. A similar portrait, dated 1889, is in the National Portrait Gallery, London, inv. no. NPG Ax28688
1 portrait of Sayaji Rao III, Gaekwar of Baroda, as a child, standing in an interior, leaning against a book, holding a sword, 19x12 cm (print). The print is glued to a card bearing an inscription identifying the Maharaja depicted. A similar photograph, on albumen paper, possibly attributed to Pestonjee Dosabhoy and dated 1875-76, is in the Royal Collection, inv. no. RCIN 2701622. 
1 portrait of Shah Jahan, Begum of Bhopal, standing in an interior, leaning against a table, 19x12 cm (print). The print is glued to a card bearing an inscription identifying the woman depicted. This Begum was a Knight Grand Commander (GCSI) of the Order of the Star of India and wears its medals, collar and mantle. This print is most likely from lot 125 sold at Bonhams, London, 13 October 2006. The print is attributed to Bourne & Shepherd and dated 1877 (the previous print could also be from this lot). A similar photograph, with a larger composition, dated 1872 and attributed to Bourne & Shepherd, is in the British Library, London (no inventory number). Another similar print, on albumen paper, attributed to Bourne & Shepherd and dated 1875-76, is in the Royal Collection, inv. no. RCIN 2701710

Éclectique, elle nous offre un aperçu des diverses techniques photographiques employées à cette époque. Certaines photographies sont par ailleurs attribuées notamment au studio Bourne & Shepherd ou à Lala Deen Dayal, photographes renommés de l'époque.
