1 full-length portrait of a Maharaja, standing in an interior, leaning on a chair, 28x17 cm (print). Photographic credits on the cardboard on which the print is glued: "Th. Paar, photographer, Darjeeling. India". Provenance: Bonhams, London, 13 October 2006, lot n°266. The print is dated ca 1900 
1 portrait of Sri Moolam Thirunal, Maharaja of Travancore, standing in an interior, 28x20 cm (print). This Maharaja was Grand Commander of the Order of the Star of India and wears the collar, medal and mantle. A similar print, attributed to Bourne & Shepherd and dated 1903, is in the Royal Collection, inv. no. RCIN 2916579. A similar print was sold at Bonhams, London, 13 October 2006, lot no. 118
1 full-length portrait of Krishna Wadiyar, Maharaja of Mysore, holding a cane, leaning on a chair, print signed Krishnaraja Wadiyar, 29x17.5 cm (print). Photographic credits on the cardboard on which the print is glued: "Barton, Son & Co., Bangalore".

SPLENDEURS DU TEMPS DES MAHARAJAS (1858-1947)

Cet ensemble de plus de 90 représentations photographiques ou peintes de l'Inde au temps du Raj britannique est le troisième et dernier volet de cette vaste collection déjà proposée lors des ventes de septembre et décembre 2022. Éclectique, elle nous offre un aperçu des diverses techniques photographiques employées à cette époque. Certaines photographies sont par ailleurs attribuées notamment au studio Bourne & Shepherd ou à Lala Deen Dayal, photographes renommés de l'époque.
