Mark the Evangelist, icon on panel from an iconastasis, Cretian school 16-17th century, titled Saint Mark Evangelist, Great Leader, a full length representation of a young Mark accompanied by two angels, 170x79 cm Saint Mark was said to be the founder of the Church of Alexandria and become its Bishop. This icon has a transport label on the back from Alexandria to Cairo.
