Presentation snuffbox in gold and enamel, surmounted by a miniature portrait of Napoleon I, Paris, 1807–1809, by Étienne-Lucien Blerzy for Marguerite. Of rectangular form with canted corners, the borders decorated with blue enamel baguette bands adorned with stars and rosettes. The lid features a gouache and watercolor portrait of Napoleon on ivory, signed Isabey, circa 1807, attributed to the miniaturist Jean-Baptiste Isabey (1767–1855), a close painter to Napoleon. Inscribed in cursive: "Marguerite Joaillier de la cour et de leurs majestés impériales." Unofficial French 2nd standard mark for 843 gold (baby’s head). Dimensions: 8.5 x 6 cm. Gross weight: 162 g.
