Chaumet and aristocracy
Lots 352 and 353 are Chaumet's creations, jeweler of the great aristocratic French families during the 19th and 20th century.
In the great aristocratic tradition, the alley of the actual owner acquires in 1939 in Paris a spectacular diamond and sapphire sautoir transformable in two bracelets.
Trirty years later, in 1970, the owner brings the parrure back to Chaumet for a transformation into different jewels, among them a magnificent flower brooch (lot 352) and an impressive sapphire and diamond bracelet (lot 353), diamonds and sapphires are taken out of their original mounts and are reset in spectacular new designs by Chaumet.
Non heated Ceylon sapphires
Since antiquity, Ceylon sapphires are sought after for their rarity and their quality. Symbol of nobless, truth and sincerity, they were royal, hight aristocracy and clergy's favorite gems.
Sapphires included in lots 352 et 353 are exceptionals : their origin come from rare Ceylon mines and contrary to most of other sapphires found on the market, no treatment have occured after their extraction. World most recognized on the analytic market Gübelin and SSEF laboratories, both have confirmed our observations delivering certificats on 3 of the most important stones.

Mount: overall condition is good, shows signs of normal wear with some minor scratches and scratches on the metal. Presence of a few yellow gold repair marks at the back of the mount.
Hallmarks: 'Chaumet Paris' / French essay / makers mark 'Chaumet'
Gems: Overall conditionis good. Abrasion on the facet's edges and small chips on the surface of the sapphire. Presence of fractures on the girdle of some diamonds and some abrasion on others.
Most of the diamonds are I and others Si, H-M+
