Also known as Henry Oxinden of Deane (1614–1686), he was knighted on 8 June or 11 July 1660 and created 1st Baronet on 8 May 1678 during the reign of King Charles II. He was succeeded by his son James. Sir Henry was admitted to the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn on 2 June 1632. He served as Member of Parliament for Winchelsea from October 1645 until his seclusion in December 1648; for Kent in 1654–1655 and 1656–1658; and for Sandwich in 1660.
