Condition report

Overall wear to the surface
Some wear to the enamels and the gilding
Presence of some chips
Some surface scratches
Some firing imperfections
Possible small repaints
Old label under the base: "Chinese porcelain - 1780. The arms have not yet been identified but are almost certainly British, as the ship in the third quarter is flying three British flags. The motto is FORTITUDINE. The diamond, trellis and spearhead border was very popular in England during the period around 1780 but is usually in underrglaze blue and only very rarel: in grisaille and gold as on this piece"
