One painting has a rectangular piece of paper on one corner, probably to hide a hole (see detail photos, boat n°4)
One painting has an inscription, partially erased, reading "For European service [?] Macao, Hong Kong" (see detail photos, boat n°1)
Two paintings have some holes, with a painted surface beneath  (see detail photos, boats n°2 and n°3)
